ABOUT THE POSITION:
As Producer, Public Programs, you will develop and deliver a range of contemporary and engaging public programs, events and digital programs aligned to Museums Victoria's vision, mission and business objectives. With a core focus on adult and stakeholder audiences, you will produce exceptional programs that engage and build our audiences and drive the achievement of Museums Victoria's strategic objectives.
Some of the key duties include:
- Co-ordinate, develop and deliver exceptional public programs, events and digital programs, cultivating program content and talent, to ensure audience engagement, experience outcomes and key business objectives are met.
- Identify audience trends and insights and, in collaboration with internal stakeholders, develop content and partnership opportunities that attract and engage target audiences.
- Manage staff, communications, budgets and resources to produce exceptional programs.
- Develop stakeholder relationships, partnerships and professional networks to increase audience representation, visitation, visibility, support and advocacy for programs.
- Initiate and monitor audience evaluation and marketing of programs, using data to drive continuous improvement and align to Museums Victoria's brand and quality expectations.
The successful applicant will have:
- Proven ability to develop and deliver innovative and exceptional public programs within the cultural sector to engage diverse audiences using a range of contemporary audience engagement approaches.
- Demonstrated knowledge of public programming and audience engagement best practice within a museum or informal learning context, including programming content areas such as contemporary issues, science and STEM, climate and sustainability, First Peoples and design.
- Demonstrated ability to plan and co-ordinate programs and projects, ensuring resources are managed and audience and business objectives are achieved within agreed timeframes and budgets.
- High-level interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to communicate and work effectively with a broad and diverse range of people and stakeholders, including government stakeholders, subject matter experts, community groups, volunteers, artists and culturally diverse partners.
- Demonstrated capacity to evaluate programs and use insights derived from programming to critically reflect on and enhance programs for the best audience and organisational outcomes.
OTHER INFORMATION
This is a full time, fixed term position until 1 June 2027. The salary on offer is VPS4.1 base of grade - $100,894 per annum, pro rata + 12% Superannuation.
