Harberger Pty Ltd are seeking an Assistant Farm Manager based in Ultima, Victoria. The operation consists of a cropping program growing barley, wheat, lentils and canola. In this hands on role, you will be responsible for day to day management of all farming activities whilst reporting to Management.

Key Responsibilities:

• Implement ‘Best Practice’ agricultural systems and standards to support crop production in consultation with Management and Agronomists
• Personally operate a variety of equipment and machinery such as tractors, sprayers, harvesters, air-seeders and other associated cropping equipment
• Ensure critical operational timelines are met such as crop planting, harvesting and Spraying
• Coordinate and implement maintenance of farm plant and machinery
• Manage and implement all WH&S procedures and protocols
• Ensure key benchmarking targets are met and passion to strive to improve all aspects of the cropping operation
• Plan correct chemical and fertiliser applications ensuring they are applied timely and accurately
• Logging chemical applications onto Agworld software
• Correctly using and overseeing the Trimble software throughout all machinery
• Train and supervise staff

Experience required for this role:

• Ability to lead and supervise staff when necessary
• Strong knowledge of farm chemicals and the application process
• Experience with farm application software's and technology such as Trimble and Agworld
• Experienced with machinery such as tractors, harvesters, airseeders, sprayers and other associated cropping equipment
• Strong communication skills
• Ambition to lead and continue to improve management skills
• Well organised with excellent time management skills
• Ability to work within a team environment and independently
• A driver licence is essential

• $73,000 to $80,000
