About the Role
We are seeking a friendly and customer-focused Café/ Barista Attendant to join the Catering team at Sheldon College.
Working within our busy on-campus café, you will provide exceptional customer service to staff, students and families while supporting the day-to-day operations of Café 97. Duties include food and beverage service, coffee preparation, operating the POS system, handling transactions, restocking displays and maintaining a clean and welcoming environment. Opportunities may also arise to assist with catering and College events.
This role includes responsibility for student safety and wellbeing, requiring compliance with the College's Child Safe Standards, policies and procedures, and all relevant legislative and duty of care obligations.
This is a casual, term-time position, rostered Monday to Friday. Flexibility is required, with availability between 7:00am - 4:00pm.
Approximately 10-15hours per week.

About you
- Experience with Cash handling and POS experience in a fast-paced environment.
- Barista experience favourable but not essential (training can be provided).
- Knowledge or certification in Food Safety (or can complete on employment).
- Demonstrated high level of communication and customer service skills providing excellence in service.
- Hospitality and food preparation experience favourable.
- A self-motivated and proactive, solution focused approach.
- High professional and ethical standards.
- Ability to liaise with internal and external stakeholders.
- Excellent organisation, attention to detail and time management skills.
- Ability to manage and prioritise a diverse workload and meet deadlines.
- Capability to work autonomously as well as contribute to harmonious working relationships within the team.
- Ability to obtain a Queensland Blue Card (Working with Children Check).
Child Safety and Wellbeing
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Queensland Blue Card (Working with Children Check)
- Commitment to upholding child safety, duty of care and appropriate professional conduct within a school environment
- Ability to comply with and uphold the College’s Child Safety and Wellbeing policies and procedures
