Full job description

Position Overview:

As a Product Innovation & Technology Intern, you will be a key contributor to the creation and refinement of innovative product features by combining creativity, technical research, and detailed testing.

Working closely with the CTO and cross-functional teams, you will conceptualise, research, and collaboratively brainstorm ideas, translating them into storyboards and actionable designs. Your role will involve deep research into Microsoft technologies, developing UI/UX prototypes, writing detailed user stories and specifications, as well as creating and executing test plans to ensure the highest quality.

You will partner with various stakeholders and the development team throughout the product life-cycle to bring visionary products to life.

Our internship is open to undergraduate and postgraduate students in their penultimate or final year of study. We will offer an ongoing internship for the students during their studies if suitable, with a potential to extend depending on circumstances.

Please note, this role is only open those living in, or around Sydney, as you will need to attend our in-office days (Wednesday & Thursdays) as part of this internship. This role will be paid a Per Diem rate.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the CTO and team members to ideate, brainstorm, and storyboard innovative product concepts.
  • Conduct thorough research on Microsoft technologies to inform and enhance product development.
  • Facilitate and participate in collaborative brainstorming and story-boarding sessions.
  • Develop user-centric UI/UX designs and prototypes that align with technical capabilities.
  • Write comprehensive user stories and technical specifications to guide development.
  • Design and carry out test plans and testing activities for new features.
  • Work closely with developers to implement and refine features based on testing and feedback.
  • Document findings and iterate on concepts to meet quality and usability standards.

Ideal Candidate

  • Strong collaborative and communication skills, with passion for teamwork and idea-sharing.
  • Analytical thinker with a creative mindset and technical curiosity about Microsoft technologies.
  • Experience or willingness to develop skills in UI/UX design, storyboarding, and prototype creation.
  • Proficient in writing test plans, test cases, and detailed user stories.
  • Detail-oriented, self-motivated, able to manage tasks efficiently in a dynamic environment.

What You Will Gain:

  • Valuable hands-on experience in software development.
  • Opportunity to work with experienced professionals and learn from industry experts.
  • Exposure to a wide range of technologies used in IT consulting and custom software development.
  • Flexible working arrangements (hybrid options).
  • Potential for permanent employment upon successful completion of the internship.
  • A supportive, inclusive, and innovative work environment.
