About the role
The People Strategy Consultant is an integral member of the People and Culture team responsible for the development, implementation, coordination, and evaluation of initiatives, projects, policies and procedures arising from whole-of-government directions and strategies such as the Workforce Diversification and Inclusion Strategy for WA Public Sector Employment and SM TAFE’s Workforce, Diversity and Inclusion Plan.
The role encompasses coordinating and promoting a range of contemporary human resources initiatives and projects such as the College’s Inclusive Employment Program, Aboriginal Employment Program, School Based Traineeship Program and other identified workforce strategies to improve diversity group representation.
To be successful in this role you will have experience in public sector recruitment and a strong commitment to diversity and inclusion. You will coordinate end-to-end recruitment initiatives that improve representation across priority groups and support managers to embed inclusive hiring practices. You will use this experience to provide options and evidence-based recommendations for continuous improvement and to address workforce issues which meet business needs and are compliant with the public sector legislative and regulatory employment frameworks.
You will be an excellent communicator capable of facilitating meaningful consultation and liaison with key internal and external stakeholders to develop and successfully implement programs and changes in workforce practices and track and measure program effectiveness against diversity targets. Attention to detail and the confidence to work with data to measure impact is a must, as are strong organisational skills.
