Student Support Officer – International Students

EnglishWise Global (CRICOS Code: 04311H)

Location: Sydney CBD (with opportunities to support students across multiple campuses)
Employment Type: Casual/Part Time leading to possible Full Time Permanent

We pride ourselves on delivering exceptional student experiences and are looking for a passionate Student Support Officer to join our team.

About the Role

As a Student Support Officer, you will be the first point of contact for our international students, helping them settle into life and study in Australia while ensuring they receive outstanding support throughout their student journey.

This is a people-focused role requiring excellent communication skills, strong problem-solving abilities, and a genuine passion for helping students succeed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide ongoing support and guidance to international students.
  • Assist students with orientation and onboarding processes.
  • Support students with accommodation, transport, banking, healthcare, and general settlement matters.
  • Maintain regular communication with students to monitor wellbeing and engagement.
  • Identify at-risk students and escalate concerns to relevant departments.
  • Assist students facing academic, personal, or welfare-related challenges.
  • Student Welfare and Support

Student Administration

  • Maintain accurate student records and case notes.
  • Assist with attendance monitoring and follow-up.
  • Support student document collection and compliance requirements.
  • Coordinate student letters, certificates, and administrative requests.
  • Ensure student files are complete and up to date.

Student Engagement

  • Organise orientation sessions and student activities.
  • Assist in planning social events, workshops, and student engagement initiatives.
  • Build positive relationships with students from diverse cultural backgrounds.
  • Encourage student participation and create a welcoming campus environment.

Compliance & Reporting

  • Support compliance with ESOS, National Code, and CRICOS requirements.
  • Monitor student attendance and progress where required.
  • Maintain confidentiality and professional standards at all times.
  • Prepare reports and follow-up actions for student support cases.

Cross-Department Collaboration

  • Work closely with Admissions, Academic, Marketing, and Campus Management teams.
  • Liaise with trainers, teachers, agents, accommodation providers, and external stakeholders when required.
  • Assist with campus operations and student enquiries.

Skills & ExperienceEssential

✔ Excellent verbal and written communication skills
✔ Strong customer service and relationship-building skills
✔ Ability to work with students from diverse cultural backgrounds
✔ Strong organisational and administrative skills
✔ Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM/student management systems
✔ Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise effectively
✔ Positive, friendly, and professional attitude

Desirable

✔ Previous experience in student support, education, migration, hospitality, customer service, or international education
✔ Knowledge of ESOS, National Code, CRICOS, or international student regulations
✔ Additional language skills highly regarded
