Full job description

About the Role:

As a Behaviour Therapist, you will be utilising the principles of ABA to teach functional skills and replacement positive behaviours and managing challenging behaviours of children and adolescents with autism and other related developmental disabilities. ABA is an evidence-based therapy that draws on positive reinforcement strategies to increase the likelihood of a desired behaviour from occurring naturally, while decreasing problem behaviours through redirection and teaching of functionally equivalent replacement behaviours. Your therapy sessions will generally be conducted in the client’s home, day-care or school, or in the wider community. Sessions are typically conducted 1:1 following appropriate overlap training and assessment with a psychologist or a Board-Certified Behaviour Analyst (BCBA). You will be responsible for performing ABA programs in a fun and engaging manner whilst collecting program and behaviour data, managing challenging behaviours, implementing positive reinforcement strategies, and modifying the environment to assist therapy flow. Furthermore, you will be required to attend and participate in clinic meetings to review program data on a monthly basis.
