About the Role

We are seeking 3 experienced SIL Support Workers (overnight active shifts) to work in our complex located in Leumeah. These 3 support workers must be available to work overnight (active shifts).

During active overnight shifts, Support Workers are required to remain awake and alert for the entire shift. Support Workers must remain available to respond to the needs of participants, answer the phone and provide support in the event of an emergency or when assistance is required. Providing active phone support to other Support Workers throughout the night, including responding to requests for assistance, guidance and emergency support.

Key Responsibilities

Participant Support

  • Remaining awake, alert and available for the entire overnight shifts
  • Providing personal care and manual handling support, and supporting participants who are on site
  • Monitoring participants and responding promptly when support is required
  • Responding appropriately to emergencies and incidents
  • Completing and recording required hourly overnight welfare checks throughout the shift.

Overnight Support (On call)

  • Providing phone-based support to other Support Workers assisting participants off site, including responding to requests for assistance, guidance or emergency support
  • Responding to calls and enquiries from participants who are off site

Essential Requirements

  • Previous experience as a Support Worker is required
  • Ability to work active overnight shifts and remain awake and alert throughout the entire night
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to remain calm and respond appropriately in stressful or emergency situations
  • Ability to perform manual handling tasks as required
  • A genuine passion for helping and supporting people
  • Reliable car and current Australian driver’s licence (with comprehensive car insurance)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Reliability, patience, and a caring nature
  • Willingness to learn
