About the Role
Foundation Studies is a pre-university course within the Pathways School at Trinity College that qualifies overseas students for entry to the University of Melbourne and other universities.
This teaching position in the Drama department in the Trinity College Foundation Studies program, it aims to develop communication skills, particularly in using English language within the Australian social, cultural and academic context. The curriculum also fosters imagination, develops self-confidence, encourages initiative, develops leadership, and promotes a collegiate spirit. The curriculum content is broad and can take many forms, delivery method is via weekly tutorials with approximately 15 students. Additionally, there is administration of assessment and correction, report writing, staff meetings to monitor the academic performance of students, availability to students for consultation, and other duties relating to the subject and the broader program.
Skills & Experience
To be considered for this role, you must have a relevant tertiary level qualification and demonstrated work experience in teaching students Drama, preferably at VCE level, a Foundation Studies Program or University Level.
To succeed in this role, you must have demonstrated experience in face-to-face course delivery and should be able to work independently as well as collaboratively with other team members.
Employment Type: We are hiring for two maximum-term Drama Teachers. One of the roles will be commencing on 5 January 2026 and go until 19 June 2026 and the other position will commence 2 February 2026 to 15 December 2026. The fraction for both roles can be varied from 0.5 to 0.9 FTE, and the fraction is always subject to student enrolments.
Salary: Level B3 – C1 FTE $90,263 – $99,020 (dependent on qualifications and experience) plus 12% superannuation and 17.5% leave loading
