Telecommunications Technician – Join the Comtex Team

Sydney, NSW

At Comtex Communications, we’re continuing to grow across major infrastructure, transport, education, and commercial projects throughout NSW. With multiple large-scale projects currently underway — including major works across the Western Sydney Airport Metro corridor — we’re looking for experienced Telecommunications Technicians to join the team.

About the Role

You’ll be working across a range of telecommunications and communications infrastructure projects delivering high-quality installations, testing, and commissioning works.

Responsibilities include:

  • Installation and termination of fibre optic and copper cabling
  • Communications fit-off and equipment installation
  • Fibre splicing and testing
  • Fault finding and troubleshooting
  • Reading and interpreting technical drawings
  • Testing and commissioning of communications systems
  • Working safely within live construction and infrastructure environments
  • Completing site documentation and QA records

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience in telecommunications or structured cabling
  • Fibre optic experience highly regarded
  • Open Cabling Registration (essential)
  • Construction White Card
  • Current driver’s licence
  • Ability to work independently and within a team
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship

Highly regarded:

  • Rail industry experience
  • EWP, Working at Heights, or Confined Space tickets
  • Experience on major infrastructure projects
