THE ROLE


The Tenancy and Property Officer role is a client facing position which supports the delivery of the Department of Families, Fairness and Housing's housing program and play a vital role in supporting client-centered services to individuals and families who seek housing assistance or reside in public housing. Tenancy and Property Officers are part of a network of community workers and organisations that share the responsibility for working with vulnerable people to promote and support their wellbeing. Based in offices across the state, the role undertakes a range of tasks relating to tenancy and property management and the provision of housing advice and assistance. Tenancy and Property Officer at Classification 2 are fully competent across the assigned housing functions and apply well-developed skills in all areas. They may be required to be a local reference point in processes and procedures for less experienced staff and to will work in an environment under general supervision.

ACCOUNTABILITIES INCLUDE


  • Tenancy and Property management including debt management, property inspections, maintenance and dispute resolution.
  • Prepare routine cases with well established procedures and represent the Department at Victorian Civil Administrative Tribunal (VCAT).
  • Apply early intervention strategies to sustain tenancies.
