Fire Detection Technician
Location: Brisbane, Queensland
Company: Fire Services Queensland (FSQ)
Employment Type: Full-Time, Permanent
The Role
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Fire Detection Technician – Service Technician to join our growing team in Brisbane. In this role, you’ll be responsible for the routine testing, inspection, servicing, and minor maintenance of fire detection and alarm systems in accordance with relevant Australian Standards. This position plays a key role in ensuring our clients’ fire detection systems remain compliant, operational, and maintained to the highest standards.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Performing scheduled testing and inspection of fire detection, EWIS, and occupant warning systems
  • Identifying and reporting faults or non-compliances
  • Completing service reports and compliance documentation accurately and on time
  • Supporting minor repairs and assisting with system troubleshooting
  • Communicating effectively with clients and internal teams to ensure smooth service delivery
  • Working independently across various client sites throughout Queensland
  • Maintaining high standards of safety, workmanship, and professionalism on site
Your Skills, Experience & Attributes
  • QBCC Licence - Electrical Stream - Install and Maintain Fire Alarm Systems
  • Portables Stream licence highly regarded, though training can be provided
  • Current Construction Blue/White Card
  • Current driver’s licence
  • Ability to obtain a Blue Card
  • Ability to maintain required vaccinations for site access
  • Previous experience in fire detection system testing
  • Sound knowledge of relevant Australian Standards
  • Strong communication and documentation skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage your schedule effectively
  • Positive attitude, reliability, and strong work ethic
  • Full working rights in Australia (essential)
