Operated by Elizabeth Andrews Catering, the Twelve Apostles Café forms the hospitality sector within the new Twelve Apostles Visitor Experience Centre on Victoria's spectacular Great Ocean Road. Welcoming more than two million visitors each year, the hospitality sector includes a 160-seat indoor café and restaurant, a 68-seat outdoor dining terrace, a premium grab-and-go kiosk, Timboon ice cream, a takeaway kiosk, and catering for tour groups and special events.

We are seeking an experienced Restaurant Manager to support the Site Manager in the day-to-day operation of this busy venue. This is a hands-on leadership role suited to someone who leads by example, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and is passionate about delivering outstanding customer service while developing a high-performing team.

About the Role

Reporting to the Site Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring smooth daily operations across all front-of-house areas. You will assist with leading the team, maintaining exceptional service standards, and creating a positive experience for every guest. Salary is $80,000 plus superannuation.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the Site Manager in the day-to-day operation of the café, restaurant, Grab & Go service, and functions.
• Lead and supervise Front of House team members during your allocated shifts.
• Ensure exceptional customer service is consistently delivered across all service areas.
• Coordinate daily service, allocate staff responsibilities, and monitor workflow.
• Provide coaching, training, and ongoing support to team members.
• Assist with onboarding and developing new employees.
• Handle customer enquiries and resolve complaints professionally and efficiently.
• Support stock control, ordering, and inventory management.
• Ensure food safety, RSA, workplace health and safety, and company policies are followed.
• Assist with opening and closing procedures, cash handling, and end-of-day reconciliation.
• Work collaboratively with the kitchen team to ensure seamless service.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness, presentation, and venue readiness at all times.
• Act as the Site Manager in their absence when required.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Minimum 1-2 years experience in a hospitality supervisory or team leader role (essential).
• Experience working in high-volume cafés, restaurants, tourism venues, or similar environments.
• Outstanding leadership and people management skills.
• A passion for delivering exceptional customer experiences.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise multiple tasks.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
• Experience with POS systems and cash handling.
• Current RSA Certificate (essential).
• Availability to work weekends, public holidays, and peak tourism periods.
• Full Australian working rights, ability to be based near the Great Ocean Road.

Desirable

• Hold First Aid and Food Safety Supervisor certificates.
• Multi-outlet or kiosk/counter-service experience.
• Experience in tourism or large-volume hospitality operations.
• Coffee making is highly regarded.
• Multilingual skills are an advantage, as we welcome visitors from around the world.
