About the Role
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Paralegal to join our Melbourne-based WorkSafe team either on a part-time (3-4 days per week) or full-time basis with hybrid work arrangements available.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build or further develop their career in personal injury litigation and workers' compensation. Working alongside a highly experienced and supportive team, you will assist with a broad range of WorkSafe matters. The role will involve a particular focus on the management of costs and disbursements associated with litigated and pre-ligated disputes in the personal injury jurisdiction.
We are open to candidates seeking either full-time employment or part-time arrangements (3–4 days per week). Comprehensive training and ongoing support will be provided to help you succeed in the role.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a high-volume of work associated with WorkSafe claims
- Draft correspondence, legal documents and court or tribunal materials.
- Liaise with clients, courts, tribunals and other key stakeholders.
- Prepare briefs, hearing materials and conference documentation.
- Manage file administration, deadlines and document management processes.
- Maintain accurate file records and ensure compliance with relevant procedures.
- Work collaboratively with solicitors and the broader team to achieve positive client outcomes.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
- Previous experience as a Paralegal, Law Clerk or in a legal administrative role.
- Experience in personal injury, workers' compensation, insurance or litigation matters will be highly regarded, but is not essential.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and written communication skills.
- A proactive approach and willingness to learn.
- The ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- A collaborative mindset and strong client service focus.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and legal practice management systems.
- A tertiary qualification in legal studies or a related field (desirable)
