Traffic Controllers – Sydney Airport

$33.00 per hour | Immediate Start Available

We are currently seeking reliable and professional Traffic Controllers to join a busy airfreight operation based at Sydney Airport. This is a hands-on role responsible for directing heavy vehicle movements and maintaining the safe and efficient flow of trucks throughout the airport freight precinct.

Monday to Sunday operation
8-hour shifts
AM shifts commencing from 5:00am
PM shifts commencing from 1:00pm
Dynamic airport and logistics environment

Key Responsibilities
Direct incoming trucks to the correct import or export loading areas
Monitor truck movements throughout the freight precinct
Ensure drivers comply with designated stopping and parking zones
Prevent congestion by coordinating vehicle flow with airport security teams
Communicate with fellow Traffic Controllers via two-way radio
Verify that drivers have completed required entry documentation before stopping in designated areas
Direct vehicles to move on when areas become congested or unsafe
Work closely with operational staff to maintain safe loading and unloading activities
Enforce site traffic management procedures and operational requirements
Escalate any driver disputes or non-compliance issues to the Security Team for further action

AM Shift Duties
Traffic Controllers will be positioned across key operational areas, including:

Northern end of the Import Dock
Nobby Area
Security Hut area
The focus of the role is managing truck flow, reducing congestion, and ensuring compliance with site traffic requirements.

PM Shift Duties
Traffic Controllers will be positioned across:

Jets Loading Area (working closely with operational staff during loading and unloading activities)
Nobby Area
The focus remains on maintaining safe vehicle movements and ensuring smooth freight operations.

Essential Requirements
Current Traffic Control Ticket (Mandatory)
Previous traffic control, transport, logistics, warehousing or customer-facing experience preferred
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to confidently direct drivers and enforce site procedures
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Strong awareness of workplace safety
Reliable transport and punctual attendance

Availability to work on a rotating roster across Monday to Sunday
