Expression of Interest – Qualified Train Drivers

Qube Rail is seeking expressions of interest from qualified and experienced Train Drivers who are interested in current and future opportunities across our operations.

This Expression of Interest will allow us to connect with skilled rail professionals who are looking to further their careers within a safety-focused and growing organisation. While this is not a recruitment process for a specific vacancy, candidates may be contacted as suitable opportunities become available.

Location: Sydney, NSW

Opportunities may arise across various Qube Rail operations, including locations such as Moss Vale, Junee, and other operational sites across our network.

Status: Full time or Casual

About the Opportunity

Train Drivers at Qube play a critical role in delivering safe and efficient rail operations. The primary objective of the role is to drive locomotives and operate trains safely and efficiently in accordance with Qube Rail Safety Management Procedures and Systems, together with relevant track access provider, regulator and siding owner rules and procedures.

Duties Include:

  • Work with a commitment to safety and demonstrate Qube’s values of Integrity, Reliability and Inclusion
  • Mentor and work in collaboration with a Trainee Drivers and Second Persons to perform Rail Safety Work in Train Operations
  • Participate in safety meetings, training, briefing sessions and toolbox talks associated with safe and efficient train operations
  • Comply with procedures, work instructions, operating protocols and rules in order to facilitate the delivery of safe and efficient train operations
  • Demonstrate and disseminate a positive safety culture throughout all levels of the business and operations

About You:

We are interested in hearing from candidates who can demonstrate:

  • Certificate IV in Train Driving (Freight).
  • Experience working in a rail safety critical environment.
  • Availability to work a dynamic 24/7 shift roster.
  • A current Driver’s Licence and the ability to provide licence history.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.
  • The ability to work autonomously and proactively.
  • Flexibility, adaptability and a commitment to safety.
  • A good general level of health and fitness.
