McGregor Gourlay Agricultural Services is one of the most dynamic privately owned rural services companies in Australia, employing over 160 staff across 17 branches located across North West NSW, the NSW Northern Rivers, the Darling Downs and the South West QLD Border Regions serving the townships and surrounding areas.
We offer a highly customer focused approach with our team working closely with our clients, whilst partnering with leading service providers. We offer a wide range of services to our customers and specialising in chemical, fertiliser, seed, agronomy services, rural merchandise, livestock, property, and water equipment, to ensure customers have what they need, when they need it.
With a history of over 127 years of service, the McGregor Gourlay Agricultural Services team is at the forefront of agriculture, with an outstanding level of experience across a wide range of cropping environments, to assist our customers pioneer production into new areas across the region and maximise the potential of their cropping and livestock operations.

McGregor Gourlay is excited to announce the opening of our Trainee Agronomy Program for 2026, offering a unique opportunity for talented graduates to kick-start their career in the agricultural industry. As part of our Trainee Agronomy Program, successful candidates will have the chance to gain valuable hands-on experience and develop key skills essential for future success. This opportunity is open to graduates from all fields who are passionate about making a difference in agriculture.
With branches located throughout the premier agricultural regions in Australia, our dedicated team of cotton, broadacre and horticulture agronomists and close industry alliances, provide graduates with the opportunity to learn from those with years of combined experience to develop the skills and knowledge needed to achieve long term career success as an Agronomist.
Our Trainee Agronomy Program is a structured program that flows onto our Graduate Agronomy Program. As a Trainee you will be in the field from day one, working and learning from our highly experienced senior team members. This team approach ensures our staff and clients have access to a vast array of knowledge, covering a number of fields from fallow management and crop nutrition, to weed and insect control. You will also have the opportunity to obtain various industry recognised accreditations which will support graduates learning, growth and career development.
We are looking for graduates who can demonstrate a willingness to learn, enjoy being part of a team, strong communication and problem-solving skills. We are interested in speaking to those that have a genuine interest in learning more about the agricultural industry.
This Program offers an opportunity for those still studying to balance work and study to grow both personally and professionally within a supportive and dynamic work environment.
