Start Your Career in Dental Assisting – Earn While You Learn

Are you interested in starting a rewarding, long-term career in dental assisting?

A well-established dental practice in Nundah is looking for a motivated, reliable and caring person to join our team through a Certificate III in Dental Assisting Traineeship.

No previous dental assisting experience is required.

This is a genuine earn-while-you-learn opportunity. You will be employed and paid while gaining practical experience in our dental practice and completing your nationally recognised Certificate III in Dental Assisting.

We will pay the cost of your Certificate III in Dental Assisting course.

The traineeship may be offered on a full-time or part-time basis, depending on the successful applicant's circumstances and the agreed traineeship arrangements.

We are looking for someone who sees dental assisting as a long-term career and would like to learn, develop their skills and grow with a stable and supportive dental team.

A Genuine Long-Term Career Opportunity

We are looking to invest in the right person rather than simply fill a short-term position.

Our goal is to train someone who would like to become a skilled Dental Assistant and continue their career with our practice after completing their qualification.

Following successful completion of the traineeship, we are committed to providing the successful trainee with at least a further 12 months of continued full-time employment, or equivalent ongoing employment, subject to satisfactory performance and normal employment terms and conditions.

For the right person, there may also be opportunities to continue developing their career with our practice well beyond this period.

What You'll Learn

Our practice provides a broad range of dental services, giving you the opportunity to develop practical skills across different areas of dental assisting and practice operations.

Working alongside our dentists and experienced team, you will receive hands-on training and support in areas including:

  • Chairside assisting for general dental procedures
  • Assisting with sleep dentistry and sedation cases
  • Dental surgery preparation and setup
  • Infection prevention and control
  • Instrument cleaning and sterilisation
  • Preparing and maintaining treatment rooms
  • Patient care and communication
  • Dental practice management software
  • Clinical records and practice systems
  • Reception and appointment management
  • General dental administration
  • Working effectively as part of a professional dental team

You will not be expected to know everything from day one.

As your knowledge, confidence and experience develop, you will gradually take on additional responsibilities with the guidance and support of our team.

Earn While You Learn

As part of your employment, you will work towards completing your:

Certificate III in Dental Assisting

You will:

  • Be employed and receive wages while completing your traineeship
  • Gain practical, hands-on experience in a real dental practice
  • Complete your Certificate III in Dental Assisting while working
  • Have the cost of your Certificate III course paid by the practice
  • Receive training and support from experienced dental professionals
  • Gain a nationally recognised qualification upon successful completion

This means you can earn an income, gain valuable workplace experience and obtain your qualification at the same time.

Full-Time or Part-Time Options

We understand that everyone's circumstances are different.

The traineeship may be structured as either:

  • Full-time employment, or
  • Part-time employment

The most suitable arrangement will be considered case by case based on the successful applicant's circumstances and the requirements of the approved traineeship.
