Description & Requirements

Have you been thinking about getting your MR Truck licence? Do you already have your manual car drivers’ licence? Whether you’re ready for a career change, returning to work, or currently in a courier position and looking for something more stable- this is your chance to get your MR Truck licence and build a career with real growth and long-term potential.

The Transport Pathway Program offers a clear route to becoming a qualified MR Driver, providing comprehensive training, ongoing support, and a structured development plan to help you gain your MR Truck Licence. Build a rewarding career while making a meaningful difference in your community.

Your primary base will be our Darra facility, with the flexibility to work across nearby sites as needed. You’ll complete your training and day-to-day duties here while working towards your MR Licence. Once you’ve gained your licence, we’ll continue to support your development and explore future opportunities that align with your goals.

As our Medium Rigid Truck Driver, you’ll be the face of our trusted business, at the heart of your community and connecting businesses with their customers, and communities with each other day-in, day-out. You might not be working from home, but you’ll be on the road as a staple of your community, and it doesn’t get better than that!

What makes this opportunity different?

  • Earn while you learn – gain valuable hands-on warehouse experience while completing your MR Licence training.
  • Receive dedicated support from an experienced mentor and a supportive L&D team who will guide you every step of the way.
  • Build a long-term career with one of Australia's most trusted organisations, offering clear development pathways and ongoing support to help you achieve your career goals.
  • Join a diverse, inclusive and collaborative team of MR Drivers where everyone is valued and empowered to succeed.
  • Start your journey with a business that is committed to investing in your growth, development and future success.

You’ll Be:

  • Safely loading your truck with freight for your deliveries with teammates at the facility
  • Completing your own daily vehicle safety check
  • Driving our modern trucks between our operational centres and customers, for deliveries and pick-ups
  • Returning to our operational centres to unload pick-ups

What You’ll Need:

  • Hold a current Australian Manual Car Drivers Licence.
  • Bring a positive attitude, willingness to learn, and strong commitment to building a long-term career.
  • Be willing to complete your truck licence training with our support, including successfully passing the manual truck driving course.
  • Have the physical capability to safely load and unload freight of varying shapes, sizes and weights, with frequent lifting and movement in and out of the vehicle up to 30kgs
  • Be available to work Monday to Friday from 6:00am, with flexibility around finish times to meet operational requirements.
  • Demonstrate a strong commitment to safety and an understanding of Chain of Responsibility (CoR) obligations.
  • Possess a customer-focused mindset with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Meet our safe working load requirement of 120kg or less.
  • Be prepared to provide a driving history report and successfully complete pre-employment medical assessments, drug and alcohol screening, and a National Police Check.

What else is in it for you:

  • Competitive hourly rate of $33.81 plus 12% superannuation.
  • Grow your career with us through ongoing personal and professional development opportunities.
  • Be part of an inclusive and supportive culture where you're encouraged to bring your authentic self to work every day.
  • Enjoy recognition and rewards through our Post Perks program and other employee benefits.
  • Experience a genuine sense of pride and purpose, knowing you're helping connect communities every time you get behind the wheel.

It takes a lot of us to deliver for every Australian – and it’s important to us that our people behind the parcels reflect the people receiving them. We come from all walks. Different backgrounds, different ages, different genders, different sexualities and different abilities, but we all believe in the same purpose.

We welcome people all ages, genders and backgrounds – including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, people with disability, LGBTQIA+ communities, and refugees. We’re a Disability Confident Recruiter, committed to making our hiring process and workplace inclusive and barrier-free. We’re also working hard to remove bias and build a gender-equitable experience for everyone who joins us.
