Role Description

Opasa is seeking an experienced Network Consultant for a full-time, on-site role based in the Greater Melbourne Area. The successful candidate will work closely with clients and internal teams to design, implement, support, and optimize enterprise network and security environments. This role requires strong technical expertise across networking, infrastructure, security, and system administration within fast-paced enterprise environments.

Key Responsibilities

Manage, support, and troubleshoot enterprise network infrastructure including routers, switches, firewalls, and related technologies.

Configure and maintain routing and switching environments across enterprise networks.

Implement and support Cisco UCS infrastructure, including UCS Manager configuration, firmware upgrades, backups, and monitoring.

Deploy and manage Cisco UCS Central, including centralized resource management, pools, templates, and service profile deployments.

Implement Fibre Channel and FCoE technologies within Cisco UCS environments.

Support server virtualization platforms and storage area networking (SAN) infrastructure.

Maintain and administer Windows Server and Linux environments.

Configure and manage firewall solutions including Cisco Firepower and Juniper SRX.

Design and implement network segmentation and secure network architectures.

Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve complex infrastructure and security issues in a timely manner.

Maintain software and hardware security standards across enterprise systems.

Support endpoint security solutions including CrowdStrike.

Perform device hardening, vulnerability remediation, and patch management activities.

Manage and administer Active Directory environments, including Organizational Units (OUs) and Group Policies (GPOs).

Implement and audit account lockout policies and strengthen AD environments against privilege escalation and security attacks.

Ensure compliance with security best practices, standards, and operational procedures.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams and clients to deliver reliable and scalable IT solutions.

Required Technical Skills

Networking Skills

Strong understanding of networking fundamentals including DNS, VLANs, TCP/IP, DHCP, and related protocols.

Hands-on experience in routing and switching configuration and troubleshooting.

Experience with enterprise firewall technologies including Cisco Firepower and Juniper SRX.

Knowledge of network segmentation and secure network design principles.

Infrastructure Skills

General server administration knowledge.

Experience with server virtualization technologies.

Knowledge of storage area networking (SAN) technologies.

Hands-on experience with Cisco UCS environments.

Security Skills

Endpoint security management.

CrowdStrike administration and monitoring.

Device hardening and patch management.

Active Directory administration and security hardening.

Design and management of Group Policies (GPOs).

Security policy implementation and auditing.

Preferred Experience & Qualifications

Proven experience in enterprise network and infrastructure consulting roles.

Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.

Ability to manage multiple priorities within fast-paced environments.

Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Relevant certifications in Cisco, Microsoft, VMware, or Cyber Security technologies will be highly regarded.
