VFX Editor (Short-Term Contract) - Sydney (On Site)
Our client is seeking an experienced VFX Editor to join their team on a short-term contract basis, working on site in Sydney.
The ideal candidate will have proven experience working within VFX environments, including motion capture workflows, and possess a strong understanding of VFX pipelines, workflows, and technical specifications.
Key Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain VFX editorial workflows across production
• Handle ingest/output (I/O) tasks and ensure accurate delivery of materials
• Support mocap and VFX workflows, ensuring technical specifications are maintained
• Prepare, organise, and track editorial assets across multiple departments
• Collaborate closely with production, artists, and supervisors to ensure smooth pipeline communication
• Maintain project tracking and version control through ShotGrid and Frame.io
• Assist with troubleshooting workflow or technical issues as required
• Provide guidance, training, and support to junior staff members

Required Skills & Experience

• Proven experience working as a VFX Editor within film, television, or high-end VFX production environments
• Strong understanding of VFX workflows, specifications, and post-production processes
• Experience working with motion capture (mocap) workflows
• Advanced Avid skills
• Intermediate DaVinci Resolve skills
• Experience using:
  • FileMaker Pro (FMP)
  • ShotGrid
  • Frame.io
  • Google Workspace / Google Suite
• Comfortable handling ingest/output and technical media management tasks
• Strong organisational and communication skills
• Ability to work proactively within a small team environment
• Positive, flexible attitude with willingness to assist across multiple areas when needed
• Comfortable mentoring, training, and supporting more junior staff members
