Responsibility as a Database Administrator (SQL Server)
The Database Administrator is responsible for the SQL Server architecture, administration and security arenas and will demonstrate advanced SQL query techniques in addition to experience with large OLAP environments. Primary job duties will include ensuring systems and networks are always available, scalable, and secure: these are fundamental building blocks on which RBC is built. The SQL DBA will provide database administration and support for our production and development databases to ensure a highly scalable and reliable database environment for web-based applications.

Desired Skills and Experience:

• SQL Server 2008 R2 to 2014
• Operated highly transactional large databases
• Familiar with CDC and SQL Audit
• Capable of performance tuning (SQL Profiler, Execution Plans, Performance Monitors, SQL DMV’s)
• Utilized monitoring software – Quest FogLight, SQL Sentry, Idera Diagnostic Manager
• Configure and tune SQL Server – storage, file layout, memory allocation
• Security
• Access levels
• Active Directory authentication
• Encryption
• Data isolation
• Write and debug T-SQL
• Familiar with change/ticket/incident management process and tools (ITIL a plus)
• Backup and Recovery techniques
• High Availability technologies – Mirroring, Log Shipping, Always-On, Availability Groups
• Strong troubleshooting skills and RCA (Root Cause Analysis)
• Basic networking

Experience with the following is a plus:

• Administered and/or implemented SSRS and SSAS
• Version control systems such as subversion or git
• PCI or SSAE16 compliance background
• Implemented/operated cloud systems such as Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure
• NoSQL databases
• MySQL databases

Qualifications:

• Only Bondi Junction, NSW AU based candidates will be considered
• 5+ years’ experience in a highly transactional large databases in a production environment.
• Good written and verbal communication skills, as well as excellent problem solving skills.
