Sydney Local Health District (SLHD) is seeking an experienced Visiting Medical Officer in Ophthalmology to join our team at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital.


We are looking for a Visiting Medical Officer in Ophthalmology. The primary purpose of the role of Visiting Medical Officer in Ophthalmology is to provide high quality clinical and surgical specialty services within the Ophthalmology Department, specifically within the sub-speciality areas of Strabismus, and to contribute and participate in academic activities such as research, teaching and administration within the Ophthalmology Department at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital.

The Visiting Medical Officer will ensure a high standard of professional performance and encouragement of an academic environment which supports education, research and professional development.

Medical practitioner, currently registered or eligible for registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA). Applicants must have Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists (FRANZCO) with recognised qualifications Ophthalmology / Strabismus.

Position is currently available. In addition, applicants expecting to be awarded their Fellowship within two months from date of application, may be considered.

Salary and conditions are in accordance with the NSW Public Hospitals Visiting Medical Officer Determination.
