EXPERIENCED WAITSTAFF

Location: AmorettisEmployment Type: Casual / Part-TimeExperience: Previous restaurant waitstaff experience required

ABOUT THE ROLE

Amorettis is looking for experienced, energetic and customer-focused waitstaff to join our team.

We are looking for people who understand that great service is more than simply taking orders — it’s about creating an excellent guest experience, working as part of a team and helping the restaurant deliver a high standard of service every shift.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide friendly, professional and attentive service to all guests
  • Greet and seat customers in a warm and welcoming manner
  • Take food and beverage orders accurately
  • Have a strong knowledge of the menu, ingredients and daily specials
  • Confidently recommend dishes, drinks and additional items to guests
  • Deliver food and beverages efficiently and correctly
  • Check on tables throughout the meal and respond promptly to customer needs
  • Clear and reset tables efficiently
  • Maintain a clean, organised and professional service area
  • Process customer payments accurately
  • Work closely with the kitchen, bar and management team
  • Assist with opening and closing duties
  • Follow all restaurant service, hygiene and safety procedures
  • Help maintain a positive and energetic atmosphere within the team
  • Handle customer requests and concerns professionally and escalate issues to management when required

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

The successful candidate will have:

  • Previous experience working as a waiter/waitress in a busy restaurant
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Strong communication skills
  • Good knowledge of food and beverage service
  • Ability to confidently describe menu items and make recommendations
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure
  • Strong attention to detail
  • A positive and professional attitude
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • A genuine passion for hospitality

DESIRABLE

  • Italian restaurant experience
  • Knowledge of Italian food and wine
  • RSA certificate
  • Experience with POS systems
  • Experience working in a high-volume restaurant
  • Ability to upsell and increase average customer spend
