Full job description
We're looking for reliable, compassionate Casual Support Workers to join our team across a variety of shifts and participants. Shifts may include community access, personal care, in-home support, and Supported Independent Living (SIL) - including some high-support shifts for participants with complex needs. Availability across days, evenings, weekends, and occasional overnight shifts is highly valued.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist participants with daily living tasks, including personal care, meal preparation, and medication prompting
- Support participants with community access — appointments, shopping, social and recreational activities
- Provide SIL support, including 1:1 shifts for participants with higher support needs, in line with individual support and safety plans
- Follow behaviour support plans and positive behaviour support strategies where applicable
- Maintain accurate, timely progress notes and report incidents according to NDIS requirements
- Support participants' dignity, choice, and control in every interaction
- Communicate professionally with participants' families, Support Coordinators, and the Altura Care team
What You'll Need
- NDIS Worker Screening Check (current, or willing to obtain before starting)
- Working with Children Check (WWCC) — some participants are under 18
- Current First Aid and CPR certificate
- Completion of the NDIS Worker Orientation Module ("Quality, Safety and You")
