We’re looking for a Metering Data Analyst to play a pivotal role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the data that underpins Western Australia’s electricity market. Based at our South Metro Depot, this permanent opportunity will see you take ownership of validating, analysing and publishing metering data, helping ensure customers are billed accurately and the market runs smoothly.
In this role, you’ll bring data to life, configuring meters, analysing complex interval data and resolving exceptions with care and expertise. Your work will directly support revenue accuracy, seamless customer transitions and trusted service delivery, all while contributing to a reliable and efficient energy future for our community.
Your Role in Action
Safeguard the quality and reliability of metering data by validating, analysing and processing both basic and interval readings that underpin accurate billing and market operations.
Configure and maintain metering data and system parameters, ensuring accuracy, consistency and alignment with regulatory and industry standards.
Apply strong analytical capability to interpret complex energy usage data, investigate anomalies and resolve exceptions to maintain data integrity.
Support seamless customer transitions by coordinating metering data and processes, ensuring compliance with market rules and timely service delivery.
Provide accurate, timely data to internal teams and external stakeholders, meeting service levels and supporting wholesale market settlement outcomes.
Build and maintain trusted relationships with stakeholders, collaborating to resolve enquiries, improve data quality and enhance service outcomes.
Actively monitor for data irregularities and compliance risks, escalating and addressing issues to protect revenue and uphold accountability.
Drive continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to enhance systems, controls and processes, contributing to stronger data governance and revenue protection.
What Makes You a Great Fit
Experience working in a data-driven, operational, or analytical environment, with the ability to connect data issues to practical business outcomes.
Strong understanding of business processes and operational workflows, with exposure to end-to-end processes such as metering, billing, settlements, or similar customer-focused environments.
Ability to identify, investigate, and resolve data issues with a practical, solutions-focused mindset, while understanding the broader impact across operations, customers, risk, and compliance.
Excellent planning and prioritisation skills, with the ability to deliver accurate, high-quality outcomes in a fast-paced environment.
Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with a collaborative approach, customer-focused mindset.
High attention to detail and well-developed written communication skills, supported by a relevant qualification in IT, Data Analytics, Business Administration or a related field, or equivalent experience.
By joining Western Power, you will contribute to powering a cleaner energy future. We are dedicated to fostering career development and promoting a healthy work-life balance, empowering you to drive innovation as we develop a network that will serve the Western Australian community for generations. Y ou will also benefit from a range of perks and opportunities, including:
