Your contribution
The Wildlife Officer role advertised is part of the Southern Wildlife Operations team. The team operates in South-East Queensland to deliver services to conserve and protect native and threatened wildlife and associated habitat with particular focus on:
- Regulation of the Nature Conservation Act 1992 to deliver protected wildlife compliance and enforcement.
- Providing safe interaction between people and wildlife.
- Working with the community to build positive interactions between community and wildlife.
- Applied research to assist in the development of innovative wildlife management strategies.

- You are a confident communicator able to engage with a wide range of people respectfully and confidently, sometimes under difficult circumstances. You can provide clear and concise information both verbally and written.
- You have regulatory compliance skills, or the ability to quickly acquire them, to support compliance operations under the Nature Conservation Act 1992.
- You have good animal handling/husbandry skills, or the ability to quickly acquire them.
