We are seeking a motivated Weekend Ward Clerk to join our team and support the Children’s Ward at Nepean Hospital. This role works on Saturday and Sunday, from 10:00am to 6:30pm, and every public holiday.

The Weekend Ward Clerk is responsible for performing all administrative duties relevant to ward activity and patient management in an efficient and effective manner. This includes general reception duties, medical record management and accurate data entry for all patient ward transactions using the hospital’s Patient Administration System (PAS).

The successful candidate will be customer service driven and passionate about improving the patient’s journey, while also providing high quality support to our frontline healthcare professionals. The successful candidate will also demonstrate a high degree of accuracy in performing their duties, and will possess excellent communication skills, acting as a first point of contact, including telephone and email enquiries, as well as in-person contact with clients.

What you will bring to the role

  • Demonstrated clerical experience and knowledge, including reception experience, written and verbal communication skills and strong interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated effective customer service skills
  • Demonstrated excellent organisational and time management skills
  • Demonstrated experience using Windows based software including databases and experience in using MS Word and Excel
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and in a multi-disciplinary team environment and be flexible and adaptable
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of confidentiality and privacy including ability to maintain confidentiality at all times
