Full job description

We like to define Youth Work as: Combining your caring nature with professional training to improve communities. We are Kaizer Community, and we specialise in Youth Work across the South East and South West QLD region and are now looking to recruit for the Logan Village, Logan Reserve, Yarrabilba and White Rock (Ipswich) areas.

What does the day in the life of a Youth Worker look like?

  • Care and support children and young people in out of home care
  • Encourage life skills through activities - Cooking, sports, art etc.
  • Complete general household tasks - The goal is to provide a 'Homely' space for young people
  • Grocery shopping
  • Car transport from A to B
  • Dealing with and managing challenging behaviors
  • Reporting and Administrative responsibilities

What you'll need?

  • Capacity to commute to relevant areas
  • Hold a minimum Cert IV in Youth Work or related area or is working towards completing this.
  • Current Paid Blue Card (Working with Children)
  • A current Opens Driver's License
  • First Aid and CPR Certificate or willing to complete this
  • Be able to pass a Qld Child Safety and Personal History Screening check - LCS2 or LCS7
