Disability Support Worker – Western Sydney

Location: Western Sydney, NSW
Job Type: Casual / Part-Time

About the Role

Yahweh Care is seeking reliable, caring and professional Disability Support Workers to support NDIS participants across Western Sydney.

We are looking for applicants who live in Western Sydney or nearby and can reliably travel to participant locations.

Areas may include Blacktown, Mount Druitt, St Marys, Penrith, Rooty Hill, Doonside, Seven Hills, Toongabbie, Wentworthville, Parramatta, Merrylands, Granville and surrounding suburbs.

Key Responsibilities

Your duties may include:

  • Personal care and daily living support
  • Community access and social participation
  • Domestic assistance
  • Meal preparation
  • Transport to appointments and activities
  • Supporting participants to achieve their NDIS goals
  • Medication assistance within your training and scope
  • Following individual support plans
  • Completing progress notes and required documentation
  • Reporting incidents or concerns appropriately
  • Promoting participant dignity, independence, choice and control

No Formal Qualification Required

You can apply even if you do not have a Certificate III, Certificate IV or other formal disability support qualification.

A relevant qualification is desirable but not essential.

However, applicants must have all required clearances and compliance documents before commencing work.

Mandatory Requirements

Applicants must have:

  • Current NDIS Worker Screening Check
  • Current National Police Check
  • Current Working With Children Check, where required
  • Current First Aid Certificate
  • Current CPR Certificate
  • Completed NDIS Worker Orientation Module
  • Valid Australian driver's licence
  • Reliable vehicle
  • Appropriate vehicle insurance where participant transport is required
  • Valid working rights in Australia
  • Ability to meet all Yahweh Care onboarding and compliance requirements

The successful applicant will have:

  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to communicate clearly with participants, families and staff
  • Ability to write clear and accurate progress notes
  • A caring, respectful and patient approach
  • Reliability and punctuality
  • Professional behaviour and good boundaries
  • Ability to follow participant support plans and instructions
  • Ability to work independently
  • Commitment to participant privacy, dignity and choice
  • A genuine interest in supporting people with disability

Previous NDIS or disability support experience is preferred but not essential for suitable applicants.

Availability

We are looking for workers with flexible availability for:

  • Morning shifts
  • Day shifts
  • Afternoon and evening shifts
  • Weekend shifts
  • Public holidays
  • Sleepover shifts
  • Overnight shifts

Location Requirement

This position is for Western Sydney applicants.
