Community Resilience and Wellbeing Support Officer
$80,279.64 - $92,581.60 per annum + Superannuation (pro-rata)
Permanent Part-time - 0.7 FTE | 25.2 hours per week

We are currently seeking a Permanent Part-time staff member to join our team based at our offices in Sunshine.
The role
Reporting to the Coordinator Community Strengthening, the successful applicant will bring skills and experience in:
- Supporting policies and procedures that uphold child safety, community resilience and Council’s statutory obligations.
- Participating in review and improvement activities by helping to update documents, undertake audits and support continuous improvement aligned with legislative requirements.
- Assisting with statutory reporting including child safety notifications and follow‑up actions arising from emergency management assessments.
- Maintaining accurate and centralised records to support effective governance and operational readiness across both portfolios.
- Providing operational and administrative support to ensure Council meets legislative responsibilities and implements improvement recommendations.
To be considered you will have
- Local government experience is desirable
- Tertiary qualification/s in a relevant discipline (e.g., community development, social/youth work, risk management, emergency management) or substantial experience in similar work.
- Knowledge and experience of local government, with an understanding of the Child Safe Standards, Reportable Conduct requirements and Victoria’s Emergency Management arrangements.
- Demonstrated ability to provide administrative support to systems, processes and documentation, including those related to emergency management, child safety and compliance.
- Experience working with children, young people and/or vulnerable communities, with an understanding of safety, wellbeing and appropriate engagement practices.
- Ability to support and facilitate stakeholder engagement through forums, community resilience projects or similar activities.
