Step Into Your Next Chapter:

As a Youth Transition Officer, you will provide a range of support and services to young people in the youth justice system, particularly surrounding engagement or reengagement with education and training.

In this role you will:

Provide support to young people and their families to ensure they are well informed of their available options relating to viable education and training pathways.
Work with and support the needs of vulnerable young people from diverse and complex backgrounds, including First Nations young persons, young persons with disability and young persons in care.
Provide support to schools that will assist in the development and implementation of successful retention and transition strategies and programs that will improve the education outcomes for vulnerable students.
Forge links with external government departments, community agencies and training organisations to ensure young people in the youth justice system receive the appropriate support.
Establish and maintain effective networks with school-based support staff across a cluster of schools to secure provision of support and interventions as necessary to create scaffolding that is unique to the demographic and nature of individual transition management.
