Residential Youth Worker

About the role

In this rewarding role, you will help young people who have experienced homelessness build essential life skills, promote independence, and create meaningful connections. You will deliver personalised care plans, support positive behaviour, and contribute to a safe, supportive environment. Using a trauma-informed, person-centred, and strengths-based approach, you will play a key role in early intervention and prevention, empowering young people to achieve their goals and build brighter futures.

The position is on a permanent part time basis working 58.5 hours per fortnight. The roster consists of one week of day shifts and one week of night shifts.

Please apply only if you are available to work the following hours:

Week 1: Wednesday, Thursday and Friday: 17:15 – 07:15 (inclusive of sleepover)

Week 2: Monday, Tuesday, Saturday and Sunday: 07:00 – 17:30

About you

You will have a passion for supporting young people to reach their goals and have prior experience working with service users in residential settings. Along with this you willhave:

  • Certificate III in Youth Work is desirable
  • Prior experience working with service users who are considered at risk or are presenting with complex issues
  • A high level of communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to be innovative and flexible
  • Drivers Licence
  • Current Working with Children Check
  • Current First Aid and CPR
  • National Police Clearance (obtained within the last six months)
