We are building a team of experienced Chefs and/or Cooks for our new Indian Restaurant. An experienced Curry Chef (all-rounder preferred), A Tandoor Chef and a Sous Chef are required for immediate hiring for jobs to start in early-September. For the experienced professionals, we can even take the Cook if you have good experience. For this, we are looking for the professional Chefs who qualify in all 3 points as below:
1. Who have experience of working in Indian Cuisine.
2. Who have a valid visa with full work rights in Australia.
3. Who are present within Australia and can join within 4 weeks.
Located in the heart of the Barossa Valley, around 1 hour from Adelaide, our new Indian restaurant offers the chance to work in one of South Australia’s most beautiful locations. The region is known for its vineyards, fresh local produce, and strong sense of community, making it ideal for chefs who value quality ingredients and a balanced lifestyle.
With our existing experience of running hospitality business for the last several years, we focus on delivering a consistently high-quality dining experience in a warm and welcoming environment. We take pride in using locally sourced produce and creating food that reflects the character of the region. This role suits a skilled chef looking to take ownership of their work and be part of a close-knit, professional team.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and plan creative, seasonal menus, including weekly specials, showcasing local produce
- Manage food and labour costs to support profitability
- Source and order high-quality ingredients, with a focus on local suppliers
- Prepare and cook dishes to a consistently high standard, with strong attention to portion control and presentation
- Maintain quality across all stages of food preparation and service
- Oversee daily kitchen operations to ensure smooth and efficient service
- Work closely with management and front-of-house staff to ensure strong teamwork
- Maintain strict food safety, hygiene, and cleanliness standards
- Train, supervise, and mentor kitchen staff, providing clear guidance and feedback
- Implement effective food storage and waste-reduction practices
- Assist with catering and special events when required
- Manage inventory, stock rotation, and record-keeping
- Resolve kitchen issues quickly to avoid service disruption
What We’re Looking For
- Minimum 1 year of full-time experience as a Chef in a fast-paced commercial kitchen
- Strong Indian culinary skills with a focus on quality, consistency, and presentation
- Sound knowledge of food safety and hygiene regulations
- Ability to work well under pressure and meet service demands
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Availability to work weekends
- Willingness to relocate to Barossa Valley and commit to the local lifestyle
