How to write a product owner resume

Your product owner resume is the first impression you make on a possible employer. It's used to determine your eligibility for a specific role. Follow these seven easy steps to write your own resume:

1. Provide your contact information

The first step is to provide your contact information at the top of your resume. Keep this information neat and clear as it may help hiring managers contact you more easily. Include your name, city, state, phone number and professional email address. If you have an online portfolio showing your previous Agile projects, include a link to the website.

2. Create a professional summary

Your professional summary is usually the first thing an employer looks at. Customise your summary for every job you apply for. Describe yourself in three to four lines and include your experience, key skills and any significant past achievements. By highlighting your most notable experience, you may create a resume that's more interesting to potential employers.

3. Include your experience

List your most relevant professional experience starting with the most recent. For a product owner position, consider other roles you've had on an Agile team. For each role, include your title, the name of the company, the dates you worked there and your primary duties. Listing your duties may help hiring managers decide if you're suited for the position.

4. Highlight your skills

In this section, you may list your hard and soft skills. Look at the job description and see what skills the manager is looking for.   • Focus: Having many responsibilities needs focus. I often aligned the product vision with the company's vision and needs.
