The management does not care about you unless you are a favorite. You can tell them problems but they never do anything about it. I would not recommend.

Management

Biggest problem and concerns your always out of ratios and management is horrible... and poor communication skills with the directors and etc never really known if you're going to get a break

Wonderful kids, Rugged Management

The children are amazing, you will fall in love with every single one of them. There is good and there is bad. Bottom line is that if you love working with kids, this is still a wonderful job. Pick your friends or choose to make none, it's better to keep to yourself at this job. If you are sensitive to what others think of you or what could be said behind you back, this will not be a good place to work. Gossip is inevitable. If you're looking for a work family that is close and all buddy buddy, this also isn't a place. Everyone here already closed the doors on their family a long time ago and aren't as readily to accept anyone else new. You will feel out of place, people will talk about you, but the parents and the kids are the best part.

Pros

Annual raise, understanding and empathetic co-owner, flexible hours, hour breaks, amazing kids and families, benefits

Cons

Hypocritical work environment, un-empathetic owner, hazardous at times, employees break code often and it is either overlooked or punished very harshly

Very nice starter job to get your foot in the door with early childhood

Very nice starter job position to start off with. There are a few periodic raises and management really works with your schedule if you are in school or have emergencies come up. Curriculum is well put together and job from top to bottom is very organized.

The company was able to help many clients.

I enjoyed working in home base and I believe that I was able to mentor and learn from my colleagues. I learned a great deal about audits and licensure

Not great place

Staff lacking, high turnover, stressful for the pay. Children great But micromanage staff only interested competition not children 😉 who has the best door. Teacher's could care less about helping you everyone for self. Don't waist time here .... they're goal is to look good ....outside while inside they could careless.

Not too bad

Not a bad place to work. Director is not very people oriented and does not communicate well. But she’s not a micromanager. She also allows teacher to have freedom in their classrooms.

not moving ahead

really bad management, high turnover, no communication, and no benefits either. food is unhealthy. outdated academic resources. bootleg events. too much pressure on teachers. misleading all around.

Pros

kids, christmas gifts, parent gifts

unprofessional daycare

Every day you do the same routine. You do learn things about taking care of babies. The owner and director are to concerned on being the "cool" bosses and have favorite employees. There is so much drama there it was worse then being in high school again. The only good part of the job was the snuggly babies. I wouldn't suggest working here.

A Step Ahead Learning Center

The building appearance is great. In case of an emergenct, the location is to far away from major interstates. The owners would excel futher with their establishment if they would adhere to the policies they agreed and put into place at the time of hiring a new employee.

Pros

Can change into something other than a school.

Cons

Owners and manager prejudge staff and clients capablities.

Flexible but Unprofessional

Can be a stressful enviroment with consistently high turnover. Problems with management favoring certain employees because they are "friends" and socialize outside of work. Management does not listen to staff concerns, only parent concerns.

Pros

flexibility, work with schedule

Cons

unprofessional

Working with others is what makes the job so much fun. You learn something new everyday. You meet new people every day. You build a good relationship with the company.

Terrible

A Step Ahead Learning Center in Rex Georgia is a terrible place to work. The children were excellent and the classroom settings were great however the owners of this childcare facility were opportunists and only cared about money. They work you to death and make you feel as though it is a privilege for them to pay you. If you were a teacher and had children their they took tuition out of your pay, or made you work for free.
