AAP Industries Employee Review

Happy to have an Apprenticeship

As a shop floor junior I was excited to get a start as an Apprentice Fitter Machinist Tool Setter. I worked hard and progressed well through my TAFE work. Then the company floundered in the Global economic crisis and the Sydney Factory was closed and I lost my employment.

Pros

Getting the apprenticeship

Cons

Factory closure and losing my job

Productive

Most days consisted primarily of picking and packing stock to complete orders. Moving pallets of stock through the use of the forklift was the other main duty.

Privately owned company , with ease to do business

AAP gave me plenty of opportunities for travel for business, regular trips to Asia, EU and Pacific to generate business moving forward. This exposed myself to bigger decision makers in our markets Being a privately owned business it was easy to talk to the owners and other Management about markets and opportunites.

Pros

visiting different countries

Cons

Cash flow
