A good job for high school studets or people between jobs
SIGN SPINNER (Former Employee) - Arlington, VA - 2 March 2016
Indeed Featured review
The most useful review selected by IndeedI would go out to multiple locations in the D.C. metropolitan area and would advertise for local businesses buy standing on street corners and performing tricks with a six foot sign.
It was and outdoor job so being able to work though different seasons and weather conditions would be difficult. Wind in rain in particular were a detriment to the capability of performing tricks. Although, it was enjoyable to go out to different areas across Maryland and Virginia and see what was out there. People would regularly cheer as well which made performing all the more entertaining.
There was a large chain of people I worked through, all of whom I had a good relationship. I was paid on time and was praised for my abilities and my clean slate in terms of the companies I advertised for.
I was driven to the locations by multiple different people and while some rides I were quiet and I would likely nap, other times we would have enjoyable conversations about our lives in the free time we had.
My main issue was a somewhat unfair attitude I received from my main manager. While I had no personal issue with him I found it difficult to receive bonuses compared to others who I knew to be quite lazy on the job. Overall, though that was not what made me quit but rather another job taking up so much of my time that I could not work both simultaneously.
Pros
Friendly; good pay for hours worked; good exercise
Cons
Lazy coworkers; bad weather

Lousy work culture
Sign Spinner (Current Employee) - Phoenix, AZ - 10 June 2023
Long days in the sun with 1 short break. The workplace culture is, at times, toxic. Schedules change without notice. Depending on where you live you have long drives.
Pros
Lunch is paid. Not really dealing with people.
Cons
Out in the heat. Short breaks. Management leaves a LOT to be desired.

Good place to work, many different kinds of people
Sign Spinner (Current Employee) - Baltimore, MD - 10 February 2020
AArrow is very inclusive with hiring and interviewing their employees. They also have great trainers, so very little experience is required to get the job, just good work ethic!

Very easy place to work for.
AARROW Sign Spinner (Current Employee) - Atlanta, GA - 27 September 2019
The company and the managers find clients and tell you where to spin on a certain day. They train you to entertain and get attention from passing cars. You can dance with your music or make a routine, or you can just do tricks the whole time. Will work for someone that likes to be alone and outside.

The management was not very organized
Sign Spinner (Former Employee) - Las Vegas, NV - 12 May 2019
I really enjoyed the time at this job because it was fairly easy. The hardest thing about this job was being outside in the summer. The management was not very organized. I would get the schedule for the week and everyone would have hours and throughout the week the schedule would change for no apparent reason.
Pros
30 minute breaks
Cons
Had to pay for your lunches

Working as a sign spinner with Aarrow Ads was great fun. Everyone trained together at least once a week. It was easy money and fun to learn all the tricks.

Very productive placement and fun work environment.
Sign spinner (Former Employee) - Phoenix, AZ - 11 April 2017
Good work environment. Slow days, slower hours. Everyone gives tips on how to make the day easier. The hardest part of the job depends on the weather of how cold or hot it is.
Pros
Music playlists.
Cons
Weather. Rain, sleet or snow etc.

Tiring
Sign Spinner (Former Employee) - North Hollywood, CA - 9 April 2017
There isn't much to expect when you spin a sign on a corner of a street. There were breaks for my 5-6 hour shifts, it was extremely hot during the summer so I would recommend bringing more than you expect to be safe when you spin. Someone with a car will pick you up and drop you off.
Pros
Easy Job, Promotion is Easy, High Pay
Cons
Tiring work, hot days

I have been working there for one year. I just stand for over 5 hours on the street. I was hopefully people can seeing it and remind people can go. I was having a good time with meeting new people on the street and making me more energy.

Cashier / Dish Washer / Subwsy
Sign Spinner (Current Employee) - San Antonio, TX - 23 January 2016
a typical day here is being behind the register, but going where ever there needs to be work done around the store when needed. Here I learned to a fast passed worker. The co workers are nice, hardest part of the job to me was freezer stocking. The part I enjoyed about work was the people
Pros
A steady income, easy to learn
Cons
None

A job, not a career
ProfessionalSignSpinner/Advertising Representative (Current Employee) - Los Angeles, CA - 4 December 2014
It's a great choice for high school and college students, they never really fire anybody but getting a shift is up in the air, they are mostly weekend shifts and your basically spinning a sign for 3,4,5 hours with a 20-30 minute break. The longer you've worked there the more 6-7 hour shifts you get. Payday is every other Wednesday and there are weekly practices at North Hollywood Park which is down the street from the office.
Pros
Great job choice as long as your in school living with your parents
Cons
Short breaks, working out in the hot sun for hours, there are times you might go a week or two without a shift.

The best high school/post-graduate job
Sign Spinner and Brand Ambassador (Current Employee) - Columbia, MD - 14 September 2012
I've wish I've done this at age 16 for this is a great way to get that type of job to earn enough to buy that xbox game or save up for the new iphone. I hate it when people categorize me as a "teenager" who doesn't know anything about the workforce; AArrow will redefine that. Work is not suppost to be easy and its not suppost to be fun but, being a sign spinner had to be the easiest $10/hour you'll ever make. Going through a job interview is less imitating...really! They talk to me about sign spinning being a performing art, a sport and a career in the guerilla marketing field. AArrow Ads. is a franchise just like Burger King, Giant- The Grocery store and other entry level job out there for 16-18 year olds. I went through 3 day of training to become a great sign spinner. I'm not good with sports, arts, music or anything that is school related. I learned 4 twirl-like sign spinning tricks that I gotten too emotional because I finally felt that I can do something useful in life. My parents didn't like the idea that I do not get paid to attended training but learning a new skill is priceless to me. After 3 days of training, I've lost 20 pound after my 7th shift. Managment, I wish there was another cool way to use that word because that is how awsome my bosses are! First day into working a 5 hour shift, I was suppost to be graded by my boss on my performance along with other work ethics. He/she couldn't showed up but I just assume that they are still around to find me if I choaked on the corner. After I was done with my shift, I when back to the office of the client that I was -
Pros
gas reimbursement, texting is allowed with exceptions, mp3 players are allowed, managment rarely looks over your shoulder and family-friendly
Cons
blue-collar duties(must be outside, etc.), no work compensation, weekend shifts are manitory(drivers), low-resources(sales team), paycheck are handed out after weekly practice; no direct deposit.
