Management treat you as just a number lots of staff turnover on feet for long hours managing switchboard as well as customers in front of you due to lack of staff

Fun and Productive workplace
Housekeeper (Former Employee) - Busselton WA - 4 January 2019
Working at Abbey Beach was fun and productive with a good pay rate. However when its not the school holidays there is a lot less work so if needing to pay bills you will require another job elsewhere.
Pros

Productive environment to learn
Experienced Waitress / Supervisor/ Barista (Former Employee) - Busselton, WA - 26 June 2015
I had a very good experience in my previous workplace. It provided me a chance to learn different supervising skills and time management. The hardest part of the job was only one person used to manage the floor including duties such as coffee making, food service, looking after buffet and cash handling, taking orders. I was the only one on the floor to handle tasks. However, I successfully attempted my role and became a multitasked person. The staff was really good.
Pros
Free beverages
Cons
Long hours

Cooking,cleaning and some more cooking.
Chef de Partie (Former Employee) - Busselton,Western Australia - 23 November 2013
Started here as a 15 year old young apprentice chef. Working with some world class chefs over the years, I was taught discipline, time control, cleanliness, professionalism in the kitchen, team work and the joys of a smoko. Working in the resort cafe, restaurant, weddings, buffets and many events taught me a great understanding of cooking and working with all sorts of teams. Returning after some years as Chef de Partie I had apprentices working under me, this was rewarding and challenging at the same time. The hardest part of the job was being treated like scum by the older chefs. However they were just grumpy old men who never grew up, and I later realized working with other chefs it needn't be that way.
Pros
Experience.
Cons
Bad experiences.

Work at this casual position was short hours, but not enough hours were rostered for a smaller workforce.
Room Attendant (Casual) (Former Employee) - Busselton, Western Australia - 20 November 2013
A typical day at work was cleaning and preparing rooms to a 5 star standard for arrivals in a short time period.
I learned to work fast.
Management was unavailable to talk over problems to.
Co workers were a very pleasant bunch of ladies, but we generally worked alone.
The hardest part of the job was cleaning up after some people who trashed the rooms of the Resort.
The most enjoyable part of the job was the time one got to go home after the back breaking work of constant bed making and vacuuming.
Pros
Fair pay, short hours
Cons
Not enough rostered hours for each worker.

Front desk reception (Former Employee) - Abbey - 20 June 2012
Whilst a great place with excellent staff, office procedures needed attention. Phone system antiquated. Not acceptable when on occasion is only one person per 6 phones!!!
