Permanent relief in Various
on 13 August 2020
Good infrastructure but a hectic work environment for support workers
The middle level managers dont care about the interest of employees with skewed decisions favourable to the organisation without taking into account staff concerns. Being employed as a permanent relief support work, you will be tossed around like a rug and the pay is too poor pay. If you request for variation of terms to casual, you get a timid no for answer yet there are staff under the same term...
Residential Care Worker/Team Leader - Group Home Setting in Perth WA

The best and worst of times
The clients were great and some of the staff. There is a bullying culture which is a shame. OH&S issues. No support from management. Staff and management bullying. Most of the families were OK. Good pay but not enough for what you are doing, particularly permanent staff. A lot of responsibility and not enough training. Emotionally draining.

Extremely poor management and support
Terrible management, no consistency. Unsafe practice and no support provided to staff. New staff with no prior experience and minimal English were employed and minimal training provided. On one occasion a supposed team leader advised I could use a ng pH test strip for a urinalysis!

Productive and a fun work place
Amazing work environment , people with the same visions with the people we support. Flexible and supportive staff. Learning to care for others in different ways.
