The most useful review selected by Indeedthe pay was very good, with overtime aswell as weekend rates being very generous. I believe working for this job however is very tough and the money needs to be well earnt.

Action Workforce insights
Areas for improvement
- Clear sense of purpose
- Trust in colleagues
- Overall satisfaction
Extremely unfair workplace
Contractor (Current Employee) - Adelaide Region SA - 24 January 2023
I have worked for this company for over 5 years and experienced many periods of financial hardship as a result of the lack of care from the employers and office staff. Commication is severely not up to par, if you expect to make a liveable wage, DO NOT WORK HERE
Cons
Constant Last minute cancellations, inconsistent work and inccorect pays

People with no respect for others
Picker/Packer (Current Employee) - NSW - 8 January 2023
They hung people up often and the their tune is quite aggressive. They don’t have a very good system with the roster. Always call you in the early morning. Or they just cancel the shifts at their own will even if you are already on-site.
Pros
Good money
Cons
No respect for people

Availability of Work
Picker & Packer (Former Employee) - Sydney NSW - 18 November 2022
Any time you call up for jobs theres always something available. The process of the interview to getting on the field immediately. Friendly and Kind workers and supervisors. Pay rates differ from the role of the job you apply for
Pros
Lunch get togethers when special event is on
Cons
Short breaks and time frame of it

Environment
Picker/Packer (Former Employee) - Sydney NSW - 20 August 2022
Co workers are aggressive and the management is abysmal. How dare you expect perfection when the work environment is not safe. The bullying there is intense so how can you expect perfection with that level of truma?

Sometimes fun and sometimes serious business depends on where you are working.
Storeperson (Former Employee) - Arndell Park NSW - 31 May 2022
It is good to work with them. It is only that the working hours are not guaranteed because they are agency recruitment consultant for big companies. You can have many skills by working with them.
Pros
Good salary
Cons
From place to place.

Roster chaos
Pick Packer (Casual) (Former Employee) - Smeaton Grange NSW - 27 October 2021
If you enjoy being finding out if you have work the next day at the end of the day and like 4am phone calls to be in at 5am, then it could be great. Don't understand how they cant set up a weekly roster almost felt like they didnt have a clue what they were doing and just got the job through there mates. Pays good but only get full hrs in peak periods, outside of those periods you will struggle to get 20hrs. Steriod use if highly rewarded and WHS is not required
Pros
Good pay
Cons
No roster find out that day if you have work the next

Cons

Hard work
Mushroom Picker (Former Employee) - Mernda VIC - 1 September 2021
Hard work for minimal pay, I worked at the merda mushroom farm and you work your butt off for minimal pay and for them to randomly roster you when they feel like it.
Pros
Discount on mushrooms
Cons
Not enough hours and back breaking work

Poor management from Action
Relay (Former Employee) - Sydney NSW - 18 June 2021
When you first sign up and promised all these shifts. Two weeks down the track, you’re lucky to get one or two. When you ring up to ask for more shifts, they tell you there is no work, but then you hear from colleagues they have had 4-5 shifts every week. A lot of favouritism in the work place and if you’re not in with the team leaders, you hardly get any shifts. Poor management from both Action and the team leaders who all need a lesson on how to speak to staff. DON’T WORK FOR THEM!!!
Pros
Away trips (if you’re lucky)
Cons
Promised 8hr shifts, most times sent home around 4am

Very Disorganised
Casual Worker (Former Employee) - New South Wales - 16 October 2020
I was told that there was plenty of work available in and around my area but they keep on giving me shift that are over an hours drive away from where I live or no shift for weeks or even months, no structure-no system. So, at the interview I did a questionnaire as to where and how far I was willing to travel, but that has fallen on deaf ears. Management keeps on changing and it’s always someone different to report too, to get shifts. Pay is incorrect most times but payroll resolves issues immediately. Communication is not great either, no one bothers to return calls, emails and/or messages. When you are sent to a rural assignment you have to have ESP and do the guess work. You won’t be given an itinerary upon accepting the assignment to plan whether you can take on other shifts the day before or after and you have to be a pain in the butt and constantly nag. Which isn’t a great trait to have but it leaves you no choice to get some answers. Was told to invest in steel cap shoes black only and black pants. Most staff wear jeans, jeggings, leggings, runners, pink or tan steel cap. It’s very disorganised. Basically, no care factor:-(
Cons
Communication is appalling.

Worst Company
Recruitment Consultant (Former Employee) - Arndell Park NSW - 20 July 2020
WORST COMPANY TO EVER WORK FOR! I would not recommend working for this company. They pay minimum wage and don’t help there employees in there time of need.

Great place that provides great work options to students who are looking for experience and casual work
Pick packer (Current Employee) - Sydney NSW - 28 May 2020
Action workforce has done great for me, giving me flexible work options as a casual and provide great pay rates too. The other employees are also great fun to be around and talk to.

I wouldn't work for them again
Merchandiser (Casual) (Former Employee) - Sydney NSW - 20 May 2020
Interviewed under the impression that the work was full time, it's not you'll get work but there will be weeks when there's no work at all. When finally rostered on the manager on duty blamed me for mistakes that others made. After about 3 months I'd had enough and resigned. Do not rate working here as a worthwhile career move for anyone.

Fast paced
Store person work involving Merchandise placement (Former Employee) - Coles merchandising - 22 April 2020
Hours could be anywhere between 3 to 8 hours long, some jobs were not communicated well and distance travelled versus job pay was not worth it. In the end though you could benefit from securing full time employment

Mismanaged and terrible and organising rosters
Real Petfoods (Former Employee) - Ormeau QLD - 22 March 2020
Always restricting work, hiring new staff all the time, not a great place to be employed at. Was removed from a 5 day week roster to a 2 without notice and was always scammed with pay, rewards an benefits terrible at making sure staff are getting enough rest between shifts.
