Hiring age

  • 18+ generally. Sometimes there is discrimination against university students (due to availability) and older candidates (due to the physicality of the job).

  • I feel there’s an unspoken policy, especially when applying via (Aldi) contracted temp agencies that they’re only interested in candidates who are between the ages 18-35yo - they instantly tell you nope you’re not what we’re looking for, after applying online. Whereas, we have the likes of Coles and Woolworths Distribution Centres their is no age discrimination. As they allow their physical assessment to iron out any injured proned candidates. I reckon let’s boycott Aldi, support Coles and Woolworths who really give every Australian an equal employment opportunitiy. Show Aldi, age discrimination sucks! Interested to see all who posted employment reviews at what age did you begin working for Aldi. Guaranteed it’ll be 18-36yo. I’ll be surprised indeed if there’s any 40yo or over lol. One it’s unAustralian and two I suppose that’s just business. Aldi you suck! Oh well I suppose if you’ve surpassed sales $8billion locally Aldi the fat cat can throw its weight around and do what it pleases lol
