ALDI Employee Review
Can be a fun and collaborative place to work
Store Assistant (Former Employee) - Canberra ACT - 19 September 2023
Can be good, depending on the store manager/ASM which can change quite regularly. Fair pay for the work you’re doing. Very accommodating to people like uni students, mothers, etc.
Pros
Good pay
Cons
Till rotations

Very physical, tiring, fast
Store Assistant (Current Employee) - Brisbane QLD - 1 December 2023
If you have a good manager you are lucky. It is extremely hard, challenging and tiring work. 20 mins to put stock off pallets that are above your head. There is no time to do things neatly and most times people aren’t rotating stock as 20 mins is no where near enough time. It is very tiring work. You will go home drained. Teams are close knit but management are under pressure to push you. Like any resource you will be pushed to your limits to get every ounce of value out of you. There is high turnover and unless you cut corners you will not last there. The work pace is so high injuries are common occurrence. It really comes down to your direct management as they are under pressure too so I guess they understand everybody is stressed. You will usually have 4 staff members on shift. Which is not enough as there will usually be 2 on tills at most times. Hence they scan fast so they can get back to stocking shelves, cleaning, checking products etc so they can go home on time.
Pros
Extra curricular activities
Cons
Tiring work can be compared to CrossFit
