Unsafe environment and extremely poor management. Some amazing clinicians and staff but the management style and care for staff very poor. Working environment was unsustainable and at times dangerous.

Good but difficult at times very busy. Fluctuation of work difficult. You need better technology. Formal training does not exist. Lot of spotless cowboys makes it difficult.

Great place to be if you are not bothered about money.

Good culture, positive environment. Although I feel you are underpaid. You can switch within the organisation easily. Tram in front of the hospital. If you are a train person then train station is far.

Swichboard Environment was very toxic

I enjoyed the first 1 and a half until a new manager was appointed then it started going downhill. The environment became very toxic quickVery bad management and the switchboard environment became very toxic. I enjoyed assisting internal and external callers with their enquiry, however, it became unbearable.

The pros was meeting a few great switchboard operators who remain great friends

Good place to work at

Fun place to work, with the right people around you

Working at the Alfred is very rewarding, allowing engagement with staff (doctors, nurses, allied health) as well as the public (patients, visitors). Social and communication skills are very important as the hospital caters for a wide variety of patients from different cultural backgrounds and as a Ward Clerk, you are the front-facing representative for the ward. Access to salary packaging is a bonus.

Interesting and varied work, access to salary packaging and on-site gym

Cons

Can get extremely busy; requires high level, effective time management skills

If you work for Alfred Health you are a disposable asset you must not see hear speak if you you think something is wrong or you will be punished leave you integrity at home if you want to stay sane. Make sure your life insurance is up to date

Management is Good!!! Our manager is very understanding. Workmates are very helpful. Pay is good. Lots of benefits. Job can be very stressful most of the times, but because of the amazing workmates and Nurse Unit Manager, everything becomes more tolerable and I am very happy with the workplace environment.
