Unorganized on-boarding and poor management/leadership
On-Site Logistics (Former Employee) –  Houston, TX & Ft. Myers, FL6 July 2019
Company had poor structure. Executive members of company too involved on the day to day operation; lack of leadership and role models. Management support doesn't exist. No form of organization for any mismanagement escalation.
Pros
Benefit was acceptable, considering the size of company
Cons
Poor management skills; lack of trust within people and organization

Global Trade Compliance Specialist (Former Employee) –  Fort Myers, FL19 May 2019
A growing culture and growing company. Allyn is a great stepping stone and they embrace that position in the market for prospective employees. Part of the business model is to pay below market for labor and have a high turnover ratio. The company is growing and will grow into a leading organization in its field.

Great Culture
Logistics Dispatch Specialist (Former Employee) –  Berwyn, PA12 March 2019
Culture in this job was amazing and the atmosphere in the workplace is the only reason I stayed as long as I did. Management, however, was a mess, and compensation had clearly been chosen to fit their headquarters in Florida, where income tax is substantially lower as well as cost of living in the area. After a few months I realized this job did not did pay me a competitive salary and found a job elsewhere paying close to 15% more for less work.

Great first job, experienced workers should avoid
Logistics Analyst (Current Employee) –  Houston, TX15 December 2018
They regularly pay under market value for employees and wonder why the turnover rate is so high. There is no work/life balance, you're expected to work until the work is done, which would be fine if the workload was evenly distributed and those working 10-12 hour days were recognized and compensated for their commitment to the job but that is not the case. The same rules do not apply to management as normal employees. Normal employees told that holidays and end of year are blackout period and that no time can be taken off while management takes time off during that time or gives choice employees time off during that time. Advancement is completely dependent upon the management liking you, and management liking you is completely dependent on factors other than quality of your work. The team itself is fun, but who knows how long they will be there with everyone looking for jobs elsewhere.
Pros
Good resume padding
Cons
No work/life balance, rampant favoritism, no training

Poor Management
Logistics Specialist (Former Employee) –  Berwyn, PA28 November 2018
Management wouldn't step in when resources were needed most. Workload could double or even triple given a days notice. You were responsible to 'fill in' for those on leave or while positions were being back-filled. Absolute chaos for those who are interested in the logistics industry.

Allyn is a great place to work, gain experience, and contribute
N/A (Current Employee) –  Fort Myers, FL2 October 2018
The culture at Allyn is work hard, play hard. Everyday is fast-paced but interesting. Everyone is super nice, helpful and friendly. My team works well together and supports each other. Managers are supportive and willing to help you as you go.
Pros
The 2 hour/week policy that allows you to take time for certain situations

Very difficult place to work
Logistics Analyst (Current Employee) –  Houston, TX24 September 2018
This company is run by family members, no place to turn when there are issues and there are a ton of issues. Anyone who's been here for while is leaving or have been let go. I can't emphasize enough that there is no work-life balance. They tell you 40-45 hours a week, it's a minimum of 50 hours and weekends will be mandatory by the end of the year. Currently looking for another position, just want to warn others to stay away.
Pros
Nothing
Cons
Work tons of overtime and no pay, bad management, no work life balance

Terrifying
Logistics Specialist (Former Employee) –  Houston, TX29 August 2018
This company is the worse I ever saw. First of all, if you want to go to bathroom or even get a coffee from coffee room, you have to sign off at team leaders door.you re not allowed to talk to co workers, use Skype where everyone can see. Overworking employees, micromanagement to the roof. Manager is a cousin of owner. No training , no support. Atmosphere makes you feel like you re doing time. I wouldn't recommend this place to my worst enemy. Scary place to work. All employees are drained except ofcourse the relatives and management. They hired a guy as a logistics manager, but laughed in his face when he got there. They gave him position of logistics specialist. It was heartbreaking to see that. No wonder they have job postings all the time. People run

Logistics Manager (Former Employee) –  Houston, TX26 August 2018
Employees that know how to do there job are overworked while ones that aren’t trusted are allowed to coast by with little work. Multiple managers who all want different things daily, there is no way to make all happy at the same time. Lack of direction, lack of training for new employees, high turn over rate.
Cons
Over worked, lack of direction, management not all on the same page

Cost Control Analyst (Current Employee) –  NY12 August 2018
Allyn is a great place to get your feet wet, as you hit the ground running. The work load is intense and their is ample opportunity to use your problem solving skills.
Unfortunately, there is little available in the way of upward mobility and the pay for the amount of work you do and are responsible for is not competitive with the market.

Starter Job
Accountant (Former Employee) –  Fort Myers, FL31 July 2018
Not really any room to grow and the pay was lousy. HR lied brazenly when it came to annual raises and didn't flinch. There was a lot of sucking up at this small company and these were the people who got ahead.

If your not drinking the Kool-Aide then don't expect to advance. I expressed my desire to take the Customs Brokers exam and was told I'd be in the next class and then passed over for newer hire.

Some people are not giving enough work while others drown in it.
Poor communication from management to employees and they always talk to employees with a belittling attitude. The benefits are good however the pay is below market salary with a more moral that clients notice when they enter the building.

it was a nice place to work for at first , till managements couldn't decide if us the 3rd party logistical team had enough work to do before piling more on without any push or pull from Allyns management.
