While the people were great to work with. The constant need to put your own time into learning the product wasn't beneficial. Management were good for the most part but some lacked skills to do their job. The hours were up and down which was not what I was told at the interview. The constant battling for sales was also an issue.

I enjoyed my time at amart, I left due to having my second child and once I got further along in my pregnancy my boss at the time was not to compassionate about my leave or me anymore so I didn't return.

Poor management at all levels , especially the area manager who loves the sound of his own voice . He is well known for completely changing operating rules at a moments notice and believes that he can sell anything in fact he will even tell you that when you start working for Amart, I certainly would not buy anything from him and almost everyone who works for Amart including other store managers think that he is a joke. This company has a culture of micro management of the professional sales staff . They love to blame poor sales performance on their employees even when their sales are well above the average in comparison stores . It is not a good time to work for this company .

be prepared for boredom

Management roles require very little skill and become boring quite quickly. Very limited progression opportunities. Sales team are pleasant and easy to manage.

reasonable salary, office hours, discounts

Cons

not challenging, very poor IT systems, monotonous daily activity, poor company culture despite vision/values statements.

Overall the company is a great place to work. The team are generally friendly and helpful. The targets are firm but achievable and it is a great place if you are looking for advancement in the workplace.

Too much pressure to sell. You are not allowed to be yourself. Very pushy and competitive sales people. Management speak badly to staff. Furniture is very average.
