What is the interview process like at Apple?

4 answers

  • 3 stage interview- group and two individuals. One with direct line manager, and one with the big boss of the store.

  • 6 months with long breaks between.
Arduous, same questions to test consistency.

Very psychological, everything and anything is a test.

E.g... If you follow up too soon or too much, you may be marked as ‘impatient’. If you don’t follow up at the right time or not enough, you may be marked as ‘disinterested’.

Be aware, be on guard, be prepared, be early, do point out if they are late and comment on commitments and dedication... they’ll eat it up.

Be sincere, but tell a genuine sob story but make sure it has a happy ending, even if it doesn’t, they don’t want baggage or anything.

Be flexible, but talk about family values but don’t appear that your family commitments could make you any less than 100% available. If you have to work late or after hours, you’ll get pulled up on ‘poor time management’.

Be firm with what you can and can’t do. Be honest about it, if you get flagged as totally flexible you’ll be used as totay flexible.

Don’t lie, they’ll pick up on it. Don’t show any baggage or speak badly of previous employers or any bad experiences in apple stores. Compliment them and show a sense of wonder and amazement and tell them you have all the stuff and use HomeKit smart home stuff and not google etc... but also be sure not to talk bad of a competitor but be sure to affirm that your alliance is with Apple.

  • Initial interview was a group interview followed up by two individual interviews.

  • Casual and fun
