Great place to work!
Clinical Development Analyst I (Current Employee) –  Rancho Santa Margarita, CA24 June 2019
Overall it is a really great place to work. They do like to hire within so once you're in the company it's easier to transfer around then it would be to try for a specific position in the beginning. They really promote learning and growth and constantly having trainings and lunch and learns to promote this. They also provide off-site training as well, because they truly want the best for their employees. It is a friendly atmosphere that pushes you to do your best and give it your all everyday. They really push the idea of quality which I enjoy being that this is medical device company.

stress free environment with patient costs in mind
Process Engineering Intern (Former Employee) –  Rancho Santa Margarita, CA12 June 2019
This company strives to lower costs for the end consumer, the patients getting medical attention. They do this by providing lots of free amenities to workers, while compensating fairly. The job was not too demanding but I still learned so much from design reviews and help from experienced engineers. The facility was also enormous and provided lots of incentive to check out different production lines. They manufacture everything house, from injection molding to sheet metal fabrication, so the assembly processes and part production processes to observe were endless.

Stay away, for the sake of mental health
Production Worker (Former Employee) –  Rancho Santa Margarita, CA5 June 2019
The leadership and company management at Applied Medical will pit your own work/life balance against yourself, leaving you in an between a rock and a hard place of working overtime to manage to pay bills, or not working overtime to struggle and be seen as a lesser employee from every supervisor or manager within the company.
Aside from that, the company will never fail to sugar coat every situation to coax you into working later hours, and longer days, with promises of catchup checks, and bonuses which never appear annually.
Management is so unprofessionally handled that they make up for it at the expense of the employees, meaning continually changing scheduling for optimized production, being pressured to stay late to meet impossible deadlines for "the company needs" which seems to be the lead driving factor promoting a unbelievably unhealthy and unfair work atmosphere, which makes for an extremely stressful work environment that is plagued with nepotism and cronyism.
Communication is the biggest lacking factor with this company, from management to employees, or even employee to employee, as english is NOT the first language, and not the standard within the workplace, making it difficult to explain or teach anyone properly, thus creating a lower standard for production and quality of work
extremely demanding and stressful atmosphere for the lowest pay you can make in this field, the work is easy but the people leading it are incredibly vain and uncaring towards the ones doing the work.
10 / 10 would not recommend working here.
Pros
Sometimes the bathrooms are clean

Cut throat work place, every man for himself.
Office (Current Employee) –  Orange County, CA1 June 2019
Applied medical has probably one of the worst cultures I’ve ever seen. Everyone is on insane time constraints and it forces everyone to push on other teams where it isn’t needed. You’re constantly told to get such and such done by an unfeasible date. This makes tensions between teams high, forces other teams to push back, and god forbid if you miss a deadline, you will have upper management screaming at you even if there is nothing you can do about it. All this creates finger pointing to the worst that I’ve experienced. Make sure you get everything in writing, because if you can’t prove this person said such and such, you’re out. The turnover rate is the highest that I’ve ever seen at any company I’ve worked with in the past. My team alone, in the last 18 months, has had nearly a 50% turn over rate. They cannot hire people faster than people leave. Part of the reason is that the pay is laughable compared to the competition. When I was hired on (as is with everyone who is hired on) you’re promised and told that there is a bonus catch up check each quarter to make up for the salary you can make elsewhere . That hasn’t happened in 2.5 years, and with the way things are going, won’t ever happen again. Half of upper management is family, so the nepotism is palpable. If you’re on the job hunt, do not work gere
Pros
Smart people but leave for other jobs, young work force
Cons
Nepotism, low pay, high turn over, finger pointing, low morale, poor management

CONTENT DEVELOPER (Former Employee) –  Rancho Santa Margarita, CA5 May 2019
Through a good starting point to learn a trade, the leadership is very poor. There is a ton of nepotism and favoritism. Middle management is all talk. There is a lot of rotating and managers getting shifted around. There isn’t much room to grow in your career.
Pros
Culture of caring in the community
Cons
Low pay, benefits mediocre, favoritism and nepotism at the management level, no room to grow

Sales Operations (Former Employee) –  Rancho Santa Margarita, CA27 April 2019
Work culture that is conducive to innovation and creativity. Applied prides itself on exceeding expectations and providing the best work whether tasks consisted of working with internal or external customers. Unfortunately I did not see a lot of room for advancement.

Dangerous work environment
Confidential (Former Employee) –  Rancho Santa Margarita, CA15 April 2019
Dangerous work environment for the salary. Very poor training. Meetings everyday about the same thing but yet nothing ever gets accomplished because the turn over is so high you will have different engineers in the meetings weekly, taking over someone's mess. Employees handle chemicals like nitric acid 99% with little to no training.
Pros
Employees
Cons
Poor training, lack of management, very dangerous work environment

Production Assembler (Former Employee) –  Rancho Santa Margarita, CA10 April 2019
Too many favoritism and the management always listen to one side most of the time. Working day is ok just want to let the time fly. It’s a melting pot of workers. And the most enjoyable is your friends.
Pros
Good place to work if you don’t have degree
Cons
Favoritism

PROCESS ENGINEER/RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT INTERN (Former Employee) –  Rancho Santa Margarita, CA31 March 2019
My internship at Applied Medical was probably one of the best experiences I've ever had. I worked as if I was a full-time employee (doing tasks that they would do, but as an intern). Many employees were very accepting of the interns, and the place had a great culture. It was a tough job, but if someone is dedicated, it is certainly an amazing experience.
