Very Productive and good place to start your career
Consultant (Former Employee) - Docklands VIC - 11 September 2023
Indeed Featured review
The most useful review selected by IndeedGood place for graduates to get exposure to big projects and industry experts, and explore your career opportunities in different sectors through rotations. But it can be difficult if you would like to develop your expertise and career as planned unless you have a very supportive manager and an active resource manager.

This is not the greatest working environment over the long term, unless you have financial goals to meet in a short span of time.
Safety Environment Quality (Former Employee) - Australia - 5 August 2023
Management in my area were more focused and appearing to meet a goal than supporting how that goal was met. There was a fear of disagreeing with the Management and therefore unrealistic goals were unchallenged. I personnally experienced a mental breakdown and prior to that I experienced people whose behaviours were considered undesirable despite the fact that they were experiencing anxiety on the job. Classification of safety data was challenged, raising issues pertaining to safety was at times discouraged. Note this is my personal experience. A lot of people working past their work hours, emails at all times after work hours and weekends, this was not discouraged and I believe it would actually put pressure others.
Pros
Good pay
Cons
Poor work culture

Consulting is hard work but fun with lots of opportunities to develop
Electrical Engineer (Former Employee) - Sydney, Australia - 10 July 2023
Good environment for engineers to develop their design and consulting skills. Fun atmosphere with plenty of bright individuals. Can be challenging at times due to focus on billable hours.

Good enviro. team in Melbourne, with experts in various fields. The pay could be better compared to other engineering firms. Interesting projects though.

Good work culture & would stay for the people I work with
Senior Engineer (Current Employee) - Brisbane QLD - 29 September 2022
Aurecon Brisbane Industrial team has probably the best work culture I have encountered. Very friendly and helpful people throughout the team and they really take care of you. Salary wise, it is very behind. Work wise, it is challenging and can be interesting, but you might get pigeonholed into doing the same thing for a while.
Pros
Excellent team culture, lots of initiatives to enhance diversity and inclusion
Cons
Below market salary, slow career progression

You have been warned
Drafter (Former Employee) - Sydney NSW - 7 September 2022
Don't work there. Trust me. These people think they are geniuses but you have to see it to believe it. 1+1+3 according to them and they are never wrong
Pros
Nothing
Cons
Bad management

Fun place to work with very supportive management
Senior Mechanical Engineer (Current Employee) - Brisbane, Australia - 26 July 2022
Great selection of projects. Aurecon is a very inclusive place to work with a lot of opportunities to engage with colleagues. They really care about the wellbeing of their employees. Innovation is front-of-mind and are always striving to be a leader in this space. Allowed to be creative and the teams are generally quite flexible when it comes to working arrangements.

Free fruits and collaborative environment
Electrical Engineer (Current Employee) - Adelaide CBD SA - 24 April 2022
It's a good place to start, they have good projects and my team leader and teammates are supportive. The company has done lots of projects and there is always some reference material from past projects.

Poor management
Consultant (Former Employee) - Melbourne VIC - 26 January 2022
The management is money hungry and invest bare minimum in the operation. All just talk and produce nice presentation to lie to the employees and clients

Good workplace
Senior Control Systems Engineer (Former Employee) - Perth WA - 20 October 2021
It is a good place to start your career. The business unit culture ignores bullies' behavior. It seems the norm to work overtime without claiming overtime. The good point is that I developed a lot of good friendships.

Jobs at Aurecon Group
Not much to fault
Senior Technician (Current Employee) - Brisbane, Australia - 19 August 2021
Good company to work for. My managers seem to genuinely care about their staff. Reasonable variety of work coming in. Great work/life balance and flexibility.
Pros
Work/life balance, good remuneration, flexible working arrangements, very diverse and good gender balance
Cons
Very hard to become a shareholder, not many landmark projects, limited presence outside Australia and NZ, not as many opportunities to travel abroad

Tight deadline but great colleagues
Project Manager / Business Analyst (Former Employee) - Melbourne VIC - 2 August 2021
Overall great culture that has allowed people to develop continuously. Challenge is around getting a pay rise. Even with high performance, I saw my pay only rise 10% over 5 years.
Pros
Travel, team, the work
Cons
Long hours, Low pay

Ordinary
Executive Assistant to the Group Chief Financial Officer (Former Employee) - Neutral Bay NSW - 7 February 2021
If you weren't an engineer or someone super senior then you were treated poorly. It's a very clicky environment - if you don't fit their mould, you'll know it. Very poor leadership when it came to supporting ALL staff.
Pros
None I can think of
Cons
Poor leadership; lack of support to work flexibly

Productive and an encouraging workplace.
Senior Electrical Design Drafter (Former Employee) - Sydney, Australia - 1 August 2020
You have your own time on finishing the job on hand and always has a positive workplace culture. And the most enjoyable part of the work is that you get to work with most of the friendliest colleagues everyday.

not worth your effort
Civil Designer (Former Employee) - Bowen Hills QLD - 22 July 2020
Aurecon in itself if you take away the people is not bad, the jobs i worked on were fantastic. however management is horrible , you are treated with 0 respect and expected to complete ridiculous deadlines DUE to unorganized management. overall i would not recommend Aurecon because your skills and person WILL BE VALUED elsewhere.
Pros
free lunch snacks and breakfast
Cons
management, work environment, work life balance

Positive learning and collaborative environment
Bridge Engineer (Former Employee) - Neutral Bay NSW - 18 June 2020
In Aurecon, I worked in a positive and collaborative environment to complete the projects at a quality level. My colleagues were professional and supportive in character. I practised problem-solving, decision-making, innovation and creativity through engaging in a wide range of activities. Knowledge and skill development is highly encouraged in Aurecon. I also used a number of advanced engineering software to carry out design process.

Strong company with good professional development
Undergraduate Engineer/ Project Manager (Former Employee) - Adelaide City Centre SA - 21 June 2018
Overall good place to work.
It felt like I was being pushed towards what they wanted me to do rather then what I was wanting to do.
Difficult to get grounding as an undergrad.
Had a good workplace culture.
Hardest part of the job was inefficient work with how it is scheduled and bureaucracy.
Most enjoyable part was completing tasks and learning skills.
Pros
Good work place, professional development.
Cons
Long hours, bureaucracy

Ultimate Workplace
Undergraduate Communication Consultant (Former Employee) - Sydney NSW - 6 March 2017
Aurecon provides a work environment in which anything can be achieved. While there, I was swept away into a workplace culture full of vibrant, friendly people full of knowledge and kindness. Help is never far away, but neither is a true working challenge.
Pros
Refreshing, enjoyable atmosphere
