Reviews for Police Officer in Australian Federal Police
Satisfying. Opportunities to progress and grow
Police Officer (Former Employee) - Canberra ACT - 16 March 2021
Great for a long term career. Opportunities to follow your dreams and develop significant skills. Policing provides challenges that are not seen in other organizations and as such you will gain great satisfaction as your career progresses.

Cons
Stress

Physically and mentally challenging
Federal Police Development Program Recruit (Former Employee) - Canberra ACT - 17 July 2019
My time at the AFP College to become a sworn police officer was extremely challenging, both physically and mentally, yet also rewarding. Be prepared for 5am PT sessions followed by a long day of theory work.
Pros
great work colleagues
Cons
work culture

Terrible workplace, with the worst culture. Very toxic.
Police Officer (Former Employee) - Sydney NSW - 21 December 2021
I would think very long an hard before committing to this organisation. The work culture is very toxic, and management are part of the problem. Training was almost laughable and unorganised, and being unorganised seemed to run through the organisation constantly from a day to day basis. The work life balance was OK, but overshadowed by the poor workplace. Morale is really down and no-one will help you if you have even the simplest of questions. Highly recommend any state police force over this, to get a good policing career, and actually do real police work in the community.
Pros
Monday to Friday.
Cons
Management will not help you if there is a problem, Training was a let down, The overall workplace is toxic and becomes a very unpleasant place to work.
